Six year old American thoroughbred racehorse; Game on Dude was foaled on April 26, 2007. Winning the 2011 and 2013 Santa Anita Handicap, the Goodwood Stakes and the Hollywood Gold Cup, this gelding is being trained by the greatest Bob Baffert. Chantal Sutherland who rode Game on Dude was the first female jockey to win the Hollywood Gold Cup. Sired and grandsire by Awesome Again and Deputy Minister along with Dam Devil His Due, this dark bay gelding has a pretty impressive pedigree.
Trainer Baffert will be putting his limits to test on July 6 at the Hollywood Gold Cup, where Game on Dude has drawn a top weight of 127 pounds for a purse of 500,000 dollars. This being higher than what he has mostly carried – 125 pounds while he won the Santa Anita Park Handicap by a length of 7 ¾ on March 2. A rise from last year’s 124 pounds, the defending champion seems to be at his best with a confident trainer by his side!
I am convinced and have a lot of faith in my favorite Game on Dude, with the other participants being Liaison, Clubhouse Ride, Kettle Corn, Oilisblackgold and Batti Man. Looking at the contenders; I am still hoping to see this gelding win his second Hollywood Gold Cup!
